Does Your Swimming Pool Need To Be Resurfaced? 3 Signs It's Time

Your swimming pool can be very long-lasting, but it is going to need some maintenance throughout time. Without proper maintenance and some work, your pool may not last all that long. Some maintenance that it needs is resurfacing. If your pool has a pool liner, you do not have to worry about resurfacing, but if your pool is a plaster pool, it is going to need this type of work done to it. If your pool needs to be resurfaced, there are signs to watch out for. Read on for some of these signs.

1. Water Leak

If you notice that your water level is always going down and you have to add water constantly to your pool, it means there is a water leak somewhere. If it is not a leak in your piping or your filter/pump, the water leak may be in your pool floor or walls, and the pool would need to be resurfaced. You may be able to find the leak by hiring a leak detection service to see exactly where the leak is coming from, or you may be able to find the leak yourself. Either way, if you have a leak in your pool floor or walls, you may need to have your pool resurfaced.

2. Cracked Or Bubbling Surface

If the surface of your pool is beginning to bubble or crack, the old surface is not in good shape and this can all lead to other issues, such as eventual crumbling, which can be more work to have resurfaced. If the pool surface is cracked and bubbling, it needs resurfacing. Water can get behind the surface and tear your entire pool apart over time.

3. Stains In Your Pool

If you have stains in your pool that are difficult to remove or that you cannot remove at all, you may need to have your pool resurfaced. Stains in your pool can eat through the plaster in your pool and leave you with a major problem. Have your pool resurfaced to prevent this type of issue in your pool.

If you have a plaster swimming pool, it is going to need maintenance to prevent issues. One of those maintenance tasks is to have your pool resurfaced. It needs to be resurfaced before you end up with major problems with your pool.
